IPS Portland specializes in single-source turnkey solutions for hydroelectric generators, including repair and field services. As part of the IPS coast-to-coast footprint, we can concentrate more experience and resources than local repair shops, with response times and cost advantages that larger, multi-national service providers can’t match.

At IPS Portland, we service and repair all brands of hydroelectric generators. Our experienced field service specialists offer a full spectrum of electrical tests, including EL CID, corona probe, MCE, polarization index, surge, hi-pot and partial discharge, and they’re backed by deep technical experience. We also provide engineering evaluations, uprate and design services, manufacturing and installation, to give you more power and reliability in the same footprint.

As part of the IPS network, IPS PennCoil provides in-house coil manufacturing of hydro generator stator coils up to 15 kV, giving us complete control of quality and delivery, while providing customers with a single point of accountability.

We also have extensive in-shop experience with large-scale projects — we have the lifting capacity and equipment to handle big jobs, including large shaft manufacture and repair. Our capabilities also include the manufacture of new stator cores, exciter repair and complete machining services.
