Tampa Armature Works (TAW), a leading independent power services and industrial equipment distribution company, was acquired by IPS in 2022. TAW, founded in 1921, serves customers across the U.S., in Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
The company’s four divisions — Service Centers, Technical Field Services, Custom Equipment, and Power Systems — now strengthen the single-source capabilities of IPS. TAW’s Service Centers service and sell motors, pumps, drives, and related equipment, offering both in shop and field service solutions.
The Tampa Service Center gives IPS another high-voltage facility to handle up to 13.8 kV motors. IPS Tampa has been performing work under our 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR Part 21 program since 2010, and has been NUPIC audited since 2013. TAW engineers and technicians provide complete lifecycle service — design, obsolescence upgrades, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

IPS Power Systems works on the largest industrial generators in the U.S. and worldwide. Our Miami service center works on turbine generators.
