IPS Custom Equipment — Engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication

IPS single-source capabilities now include Custom Equipment (CE). The CE group customizes solutions for challenging applications and harsh environments, with engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication.

CE produces a wide range of equipment, including:

  • Electrical control panels
  • Power distribution products
  • Medium- and low-voltage switchgear
  • Enclosures
  • ISO container modifications
  • Electrical powerhouses

We support solution development with electrical system studies and prototype design, build, and test services. CE designs equipment for indoor and outdoor use, including harsh industrial environments, and works with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Regardless of what we make, CE works to improve operations and safety. We welcome clean-sheet projects, but also extend the service life of legacy machinery and improve its reliability and efficiency.

Our custom engineering process

CE engineers start from scratch or develop existing designs. Our project management and communications keep the process moving, from drawings through 3D modeling to prototyping.

We test, review results with you, and then begin manufacturing and fabrication.

All IPS Custom Equipment products meet safety and reliability standards defined by:

Custom Equipment capabilities and resources

We work in a 140,000 square foot vertically integrated manufacturing facility — FDEP-approved, ISO 9001:2015 certified, UL-listed, and ETL-listed.

We’re AWS weld-certified and use a fully integrated quality system. Our equipment includes:

  • UL 142 fuel tanks through 500 gallons
  • In-house steel and copper bus fabrication
  • Mechanical and robotic welding
  • CNC turret press brakes
  • Powder coat paint system
  • Sandblast and wet paint booths for large equipment
  • Environmentally controlled, low-voltage control automation cell
  • Full-function testing and programming
