Integrated Power Services Acquires Midwest Switchgear Services

Deal Adds Remanufacturing, Field Services, and Distribution to IPS’s Growing Power Management Business

(Greenville, SC — June 03, 2024) IPS, a leading solution provider for electromechanical equipment, rotating equipment, and power management systems in North America and the United Kingdom, has strengthened its power management portfolio with the acquisition of Midwest Switchgear Services.

This strategic acquisition allows IPS to expand its reach across the Midwestern United States, delivering a comprehensive suite of power management solutions tailored to meet the needs of industrial, commercial, utility, and renewable energy markets. Midwest Switchgear is based in Hamilton, Ohio, and provides low- and medium-voltage electrical services for customers in power generation, steel and aluminum, pulp and paper, and refineries. Midwest’s offering focuses on circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control center equipment, low-voltage solid-state trip retrofits, and relay panels.

Founded in 2003, Midwest has built a strong reputation through Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Its acquisition gives IPS deeper bench strength in engineering, remanufacturing, field services, and increased regional presence in the Midwest and Southeast.

The Midwest Switchgear deal gives the IPS network 81 locations, including 51 full-service electromechanical remanufacturing centers and 12 power management remanufacturing locations spanning the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Caribbean.
