IPS increases service coverage in Saskatchewan with addition of full-service electric motor & generator repair facility
(Greenville, SC — November 17, 2020) IPS, the North American leader in service, repair and engineering for electric motors and generators, continues to grow with its acquisition of Tesco Industries, the electric motor repair division of Tesco Group.
Tesco Group, in Regina, Saskatchewan, was founded as Tesco Electric in 1985. Tesco Group companies offer electrical contracting, welding and fabrication, systems integration services, complete substation automation systems and storage. Tesco Group will continue as a service provider separate from IPS.
Barry Tessier opened the Tesco Industries division in 1996. Today, the company is a full-service electric motor and generator repair facility, serving Saskatchewan’s industrial, mining and agricultural companies. The facility offers comprehensive motor and generator repair services, rewinds, machining, field and mechanical services, and preventive maintenance. It also features a climate-controlled warehouse with 60-ton crane, dedicated to storage and maintenance of customers’ critical equipment.
The acquisition of the Tesco Industries service center by IPS supports expansion of its core service offering in repair services, field services and distribution into the Central Canadian Provinces. IPS has built a growing field services and distribution business in Saskatchewan. Combining IPS and Tesco Industries resources will support more on-site work in the region.
“Everyone at Tesco Industries is excited to become a part of IPS,” said Dave Calvert, Tesco Industries Plant Manager. “They’re North America’s leading service provider for electric motors and generators, and we look forward to helping them build on this lead.”
“We are excited to add Tesco Industries to the IPS facility network,” said John Zuleger, IPS President & CEO. “We’ve spent a considerable amount of time looking for the right opportunity and best fit, and Tesco Industries is a well-run, customer focused acquisition.
“The Tesco Industries team has built the business on impressive technical skills and strong cultural values. We have a deep respect and appreciation for their employees, capabilities and longstanding customer relationships. We look forward to having them help us deliver an Unmatched Customer Experience to our growing customer base.
